Beauty in the Desert

It's been a couple of weeks, but here's another destination that I "missed" when thinking of blog ideas.

Every few months we go out to Palm Desert to visit the in-laws. We are there for a brief, but fun visit. It never disappoints in the laughter department. Usually it's too hot to go outside much. Our July visit was a whopping 124 degrees and completely mutilated a water bottle that was left in the car. This last visit was a very doable 106 degrees. It was also super humid and cloudy. We even got rain on the way home.

After a lunch that left me feeling beyond full, I thought I would head outside to walk the golf course that they live on to burn off some food and see if there were some pictures to be had. Well, there were.

One Could Get Used to This!

I have been trying desperately for the last couple of weeks to get the dragonflies in my area to land long enough to capture them digitally, to no avail. Apparently, they are a little less flittery in the desert heat. BONUS!!

Over the years I have been told stories of Aflack, the golf course mascot. A friendly goose that the resident golfers adopted and fed. This past year, Aflack went to the big golf course in the sky and they erected a monument to him. The heat had always prevented me from getting to check it out.

Now was my chance.

Because of the monsoon weather, (there were actual warnings on TV), the clouds were gorgeous that day.

Reluctantly, I came back in the house and there was this adorable puppy laying around just looking cute.

Then we headed home and the clouds were beautiful in our neck of the woods as well.

We are so very fortunate to be surrounded by such beauty no matter where we live.

Rainbow Bright

It was bright today!! Last night's rain washed away all the crud and this morning the sky was bright blue with awesome puffy clouds all around the edges. Gorgeous!!! It was cool and crisp and perfect. It's days like this that make me love my job. You can't see this stuff sitting behind a desk all day.

While I love a good gloomy day, when somebody pops the light on, you just can't help but smile. So, today's post is all about bright, wonderful, cheery things. For all you people stuck inside...I'm sharing my sunshine with you.

Good Afternoon Folkage,

Although at this point I may be talking to myself, I will continue. I realize that between the first two posts I completely changed "who I am" and this may be confusing to some. I will explain. I am, in fact, a multi-faceted individual who also can't seem to stay focused on one thing at at time. I believe I may have A.D.D. or something (no medical backing on this-just personal speculation).

I began as Who's Z Creations and continue to do some things as such. I make my own greeting cards under this name and other "wordy" things. Since that original post though, I have decided to throw my hat in the Professional Photography ring. So I also am building Rebeca Greene Photography as a hobby business and see if it takes off.  Hey, why not?

Now that I have cleared that matter up, onto today's picture...

Okay, so I mentioned I am a multifaceted individual. While photography is my passion, I do have to actually pay bills and contribute to putting a roof over our family's head. Therefore, I have a real job that takes me to wonderful places that I might not get a chance to normally see.

I am, wait for it...a Pool Woman. Yup, I clean people's pools. Not a glamorous profession by any means, BUT it has it's perks. Being a pool tech gets me into some beautiful back yards and let's me see some flora and fauna that I may not otherwise have had a chance to stumble upon. Among my usual pool tools I have, at all times, a camera on me. You just never know what you are going to run into that will never be there again.
