Beach was a Bust

I was so excited to do a beach trip. I've been wanting to go for a while now and just never did it on my own. My sister calls me and says, "Let's do a bike ride and go to the beach"...YES!!!!

Well, at the beginning of our journey we got off on a tangent and went a different way she was used to and ended up starting in the wrong place. Then, we just flew by the seat of our pants and went on an adventure. This is par for the course. By the time we actually got to the beach, we had already driven for what seemed like miles.

It was beautiful sunshiney weather at home in Thousand Oaks, but the beach in Ventura was pretty fogged in. Still, we had a good ride and I got some decent pics. Let's see if I can fill up an entire blog with what I got. If not, I will improvise. Sort of like our bike ride.

This was one of our wrong turns. No bike path here, but a good photo op, nonetheless.

On the bike path but, not at the beach.

Pretty Palms
We came upon this pocket of shade with a cool path among brightly colored Nasturtiums.

On our way home we spied an old cemetery just off the freeway. My sister commented that she had gone there to take pictures before. "Cool", I said. "Do you want to go?", she asked. "Sure!" I replied, and with a quick sharp right turn, we were there. I only took a few pics and only up close...don't know why.

Then, we were off to lunch or home...I can't remember. It was a fun day.
